From sharp everyday prices to easy refunds and no-nonsense service, we run EcoBay a bit differently to the big chains. Here's the thinking behind it all.
We started EcoBay Fresh Market to bring Ferrymead a grocery shop that puts quality and value first — for every family, every day. We're a small, hands-on team. Most of our day is spent on the shop floor picking fresh orders, checking produce quality, and serving in-store customers.
Every piece of fruit and veg is hand-checked the morning it arrives. We source locally in Canterbury wherever we can and turn stock over daily — so what you see on the shelf was picked or delivered within days, not weeks.
We back it with our Freshness Guarantee: if a fresh item isn't up to scratch — bruised, wilted, off — tell us within 2 days of purchase and we'll refund it or replace it. No fuss.
